Canon Maxify (Mb2320) Wireless Home Office All-in-one Printer Review

As part of Canon's new series of minor-biz printers, the Canon Maxify MB2320 Wireless Inkjet Minor Office All-in-Ane Printer ($199.99) has a good prepare of features for small or home offices. The MB2320's ($428.00 at Amazon Canada) voluminous paper capacity, depression running costs, and sharp text should put it in skillful stead with small-business owners looking for a color multifunction printer (MFP).

While Canon'south Pixma line has features geared to both household and home-role use, the Maxify models are focused on concern, with its products targeted at total-time abode offices, sole proprietorships, and offices with a few employees. The Maxify line lacks some consumer-friendly features, such as a media-card reader or a defended tray for printing photos, but adds fax capabilities and other business organisation features.

Newspaper capacity is a generous 500 sheets, split betwixt 2 250-canvas trays that hold up to legal-size newspaper. It includes an automated duplexer for two-sided press. Mobile Press Features
The MB2320 is AirPrint-compatible, and as well provides access to Maxify Cloud Link, an interface that lets you access deject-bases services direct from your printer's screen. You tin can print pictures from online photo albums, office templates, and more, even without a computer, and upload scanned documents directly to Evernote, DropBox, Google Drive, and OneDrive (formerly SkyDrive). The MB2320 likewise supports Google Cloud Impress, which lets yous transport documents to your printer from any Web-connected computer, smart phone, or smart device. Print Speed
The MB2320 printed out our business organisation applications suite (every bit timed with QualityLogic's hardware and software) at iv.7 pages per minute (ppm), fairly typical for an inkjet at its toll. That's a bit short of two Editors' Pick models, the Epson WorkForce WF-3640 ($428.00 at Amazon Canada) (5.4ppm), and the Blood brother MFC-J4610DW ($428.00 at Amazon Canada) (five.6ppm). It did edge out the Canon Maxify MB2020 Wireless Inkjet Small Part All-in-One Printer ($428.00 at Amazon Canada) (4.2ppm), and beat the HP Officejet Pro 6830 e-All-in-One Printer ($428.00 at Amazon Canada) (three.5ppm).

Output Quality
Overall output quality for the MB2320 is average for an inkjet, but uneven, with above-par text, sub-par graphics, and boilerplate photos. Text quality should be fine for any business apply, other than documents requiring very small fonts. With graphics, almost backgrounds in our test images showed banding (a regular pattern of striations). Sparse lines were all but lost in two illustrations. Graphics are fine for most internal business uses, though I'd hesitate to use them for handouts going to people I was trying to impress or for formal reports.

Nearly of the photos I printed with the MB2320 are about the quality you lot'd await from drugstore prints. A monochrome photograph was tinted, for case.

Running costs, based on Catechism'due south cost and yield figures for its cartridges, are 2.7 cents per monochrome page and eight cents per color page. They are low for an inkjet at its price, especially the colour price.

The MB2320 is a step up from the Canon Maxify MB2020, the low-end model in the Maxify line. It doubles the latter'south paper capacity, and adds a touch screen and Ethernet connectivity. The MB2320's higher-rated speed was borne out in our testing. Information technology has double the paper chapters of the Canon Maxify MB5020 Wireless Inkjet Small Role All-in-One Printer, but is built for lighter use (with a maximum monthly duty cycle of 15,000 pages, to the Canon MB5020's 30,000 pages). The MB2320'southward running costs are college, especially for monochrome printing, as its ink tanks accept a lower yield than those of the Canon MB5020.

It does have lower running costs than the Editors' Choice Epson WorkForce WF-3640 (3.2 cents per monochrome page and 11.iv cents per color page). The Epson WF-3640 is faster, supports Wi-Fi Direct, and has a duplexing automatic document feeder (ADF), letting you copy, scan, and fax ii-sided documents.

The MB2320 doesn't offer tabloid-size (11-by-17-inch) printing, which you tin go with several Brother inkjet MFPs, including the Editors' Choice Blood brother MFC-J4610DW. That model also offers strong speed, depression running cost, and skillful paper chapters (though its 400-sheet standard capacity is even so short of that of the MB2320).

If y'all don't demand to print at tabloid size, the Catechism Maxify MB2320 is a worthy selection equally a SOHO MFP. Its running costs are higher than some of its Maxify kin, in particular the models built for higher-volume printing. Simply if your printing needs are moderate at about, the MB2030 may be a improve choice.
